Dr. Andy Allgood , born in Athens, GA in 1948, relocated to Gainesville in 1955 where he later graduated from Gainesville High School in 1966. He pursued his undergraduate education at Emory University at Oxford and Emory, earning a BA degree in the spring of 1970. Following this, he attended the Medical College of Georgia, completing dental school in the fall of 1973.
After graduation, Dr. Allgood spent two years teaching at the dental school before establishing his own dental practice in Lincolnton, GA in 1975. He practiced there for over 20 years before selling the practice and initiating a new dental practice in Martinez, GA, where he practiced for another two decades before selling that practice as well.
In addition to his dental career, Dr. Allgood utilized his skills, some inherited from his father, to venture into the development of commercial real estate, including shopping centers, car washes, and mini-storage facilities. He also invested in and renovated oceanfront properties at Edisto Beach and engaged in timber tract investments.
Dr. Allgood and his wife Beverly resided on the Savannah River outside Augusta. Beverly owned a Pilates and yoga studio in Augusta and was a master Pilates teacher, having trained with Lolita San Miguel, one of Joseph Pilates' original students. She held various fitness certifications, including Les Mills Barre and multiple yoga certifications.
Driven by family connections to the Madison area, particularly through his father's upbringing in Oxford and relatives in the area, Dr. Allgood and wife Beverly decided to relocate closer to their children and grandchildren in Roswell. They now reside on Sandy Creek Road, enjoying a 50-acre farm with a newly renovated farmhouse. They have plans for beekeeping and raising chickens for fresh honey and organic eggs.
Dr. Allgood, in collaboration with Chris Hodges at Madison Realty, has joined Madison Realty to assist clients with their land and commercial real estate needs. They express gratitude to the Madison community for their warm welcome.
Dr. Allgood has been recognized for his contributions, serving as President in 1994-1995 and being honored as the Outstanding Dental Alumnus for the Augusta dental school in 1994, among other achievements.
